CCE x YAS Haunted House 2019

The UH Hilo Center for Community Engagement and the EHCC Youth Arts Series presents their 2nd Annual Haunted House! This year's installation is a collaboration between members of the Hilo High School Art Club in partnership with the UH Hilo Student Arts Association. The high school students have collaborated with local artist advisors, UH Hilo Faculty members, and members of the UHH SAA, to create an artful, zombie pirate themed, haunted house in EHCC’s Annex Building. 

Light, Sound, and Spirit

An Exploration of Light, Sound and Spirit: A presentation of 7 videos synthesizing music and projected imagery by Ken Goodrich of Hawaii Photo Retreat.

Walking into a sunlit forest, gazing upon a turquoise sea, hearing the strains of a haunting melody or the wind in the trees, we can be transported to other realms out of the bounds of time and place.

Utilizing music from many cultures and images ranging from luminescent landscapes to microscopic crystal formations, Goodrich's multimedia explorations are the celebration of the spirit that animates all beings. 

31st Annual Trash Art Show

Ira Ono, founder of “The Trash Show: Hawaii Artists Recycle,” will be returning to jury the 31st anniversary edition of one of East Hawaii’s longest-running annual arts events. The show runs from October 4th-25th, beginning with a gala opening on Friday, October 4th from 5:30-7:00p.m., followed by a Multimedia Presentation by Ken Goodrich starting at 7:30 in EHCC’s upstairs performance space, (the gallery will close at this time).
