“The Big island: In the Eye of the Beholder” Hawaii Photo Shooters exhibit in the Makai Gallery from September 4 through 23. Selections by Bryn Berg, Steve Bohlert, Mary Bowman-Dement (photo credit), Okoe Bay, Kate Burroughs, Nancy Chaney, Ken Jackson, Susan Miyasaka, Demetra Reynolds, Becky Settlage and Jean Wence.
Sharon Petrosky is bringing her “DanceJourneys” ballet class to Hilo with a free class on Saturday, August 15.
There will be three classes for Ages 3-5; agest 6-8 and ages 9-12. Please email her at [email protected] ballet by August 1st to register.
Along with 13 friends.
There will be selections from, "South Pacific," "The Addams Family" and other favorite Broadway shows.

The June exhibit at HMOCA will be selected photographs by Big Island photographers in five categories: nature, portrait, urban, abstract and black and white. The opening reception is at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 5.
The juror for the Big Island Photo Expo is Laurel Schultz of Holualoa and Seattle. She has taught photography at the University of Washington, the Photographic Center Northwest and more recently, at the Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa. Laurel explores the natural world as a lens on human nature.
