Description:
A linocut is a design that is created by carving away negative space, creating a relief block image of linoleum. Students will transfer their own images or lino template images to carve linoleum blocks, apply ink and print using a press, baren or pin press to create an edition of five prints on Arches smooth rag paper.  Once the student has completed an edition, they may experiment with creating one-of-a-kind prints from the linoleum block.
