The Youth Arts Series Spring Break 2026- East Hawai‘i Cultural Center x Nā Leo TV
EHCC’s Youth Arts Series is pleased to announce that we’ll be partnering with Nā Leo TV to offer two Spring Break digital media workshops taught by Kellie Miyazu!
Both classes will be held at Nā Leo TV’s Hilo studio (91 Mohouli Street).
Registration is per workshop. Sign up for just one, or make it a more immersive day by signing up for both.
Lunch will not be provided. Students will need to bring their own packed lunch from home.

Digital Drawing Basics
Ages 8-12
March 16-20, Monday-Friday

This workshop will feature Procreate for Ipad. Students will learn the basics of the popular drawing app and kick start their digital art journeys. Throughout the week, students will gain basic digital drawing skills that can be applied to a variety of creative projects.
As a vehicle for learning these skills and concepts, students will go through the process of creating their own unique sticker sheets, from concept sketching all the way to the final layout. Sticker sheets will be printed following the conclusion of the class and be available for pick up at a later date.
Digital Design & Illustration Basics
Ages 8-12

In this exploratory workshop, students will learn about the principles of design needed to take their digital drawings to the next level.
Students will explore introductory level digital design and illustration basics. Our junior designers will exercise their imaginations while creating fun and funky fictional rock band (or other musical genre) posters of their own.
Over the course of the workshop, students will conceptualize, sketch and create their own design elements. Students will learn to construct dynamic compositions and visual narratives, skills that can both be applied to other art forms. This workshop will cover hands-on visual art techniques as well as digital skills in Procreate for Ipad.
