Youth Arts Series
MISSION STATEMENT
East Hawai’i Cultural Center’s Youth Arts Series (YAS) is an exciting immersion experience for young artists. Students have the opportunity to explore a variety of engaging and innovative art-making processes. We strive to enrich the artistic abilities of our students in a fun, nurturing environment that stimulates their artistic talents. YAS offers students a wide range of mediums that provide a variety of creative outlets to stimulate their imaginations and to promote their ability to think outside the box. YAS coincides with the Department of Education’s K-12 academic breaks throughout the year. Experienced instructors and artists lead each session.
These flagship sessions of the program are offered during the Fall and Summer Department of Education intersessions. Fall programming is a one week session the first full week of October. Summer programming dates vary, sessions are two weeks during the months of June or July.
Age range varies
Single day workshops, and special events offered quarterly throughout the year.

The Youth Arts Series Coloring Book
The Youth Arts Series (YAS) turned 5 in October 2021! To celebrate this milestone we’ve created our first ever coloring book. The book is filled with fun pages to color in and enjoy. Each page was created by some of the artists who have helped to make the YAS program so special. In addition, the book includes artwork from 10 talented student artists. Their artworks were selected from our first ever Coloring Book Design Contest.
