The 37th Annual Young At Art Juried Exhibition 2025: UnderStory

Sponsored by EHCC and the Hawai‘i District Department of Education

The Young at Art annual juried exhibition celebrates National Youth Art Month by recognizing the excellence, creativity and originality of K-12 students on Hawai’i Island in all public, charter, and private schools, as well as home-schooled students.

Please note that this year artworks will continue to be displayed in limited locations across Hawai‘i Island. All submissions will be made online, with physical submissions of only the accepted art works to be arranged upon acceptance.

We will be celebrating Young At Art at our first-ever YAS Fest at Kalākaua Park in Hilo on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Award winners will be recognized at this event.

This yearʻs theme is UnderStory, an open prompt to help students consider what lies beneath the surface of themselves, their artwork, and the world around them. We encourage educators to explore this theme in whatever ways are most appropriate and meaningful for your students. Consider working with layering of various media, learning about layers occurring in nature, or pondering the layers of meaning in any story, poem, or image.
