Program Description: In this camp, students will dive into the dynamic creative space where science, technology, and art intermingle. Exploring sound, digital arts, painting, paper making, printmaking, collaging, and sculpture, students will create both 2D and 3D artworks that reflect and interpret elements of the Hawaiian rainforest. This immersive installation will be on display at the East Hawai‘i Cultural Center Annex space for a limited time after the camp.

Bio:Alyssa is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Master’s Degree in Teaching. She is currently a teacher at Waiakea Elementary School. Learn More

Bio:Jessica graduated from the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. She is currently an Educational Assistant with the East Hawaii District Regional Sped. Learn More

Bio:Mary Milelzcik has a B.A. degree from Sonoma State University’s School of Expressive Arts, a radical two-year upper division interdisciplinary experimental program where you worked with a mentor, and chose your own path in upper-division. Printmaking and papermaking were her focus. This transformative experience set the path for an interesting career as a mixed media artist and photographer; as the Curator at Highways Performance Space and Gallery in Santa Monica CA for ten years; and as an artist and instructor of papermaking, mixed media encaustic art, and printmaking. Bio:Dena is a multimedia artist based in Volcano, on the Big Island. She has attended Kapiolani Community College on Oahu as well as the University of Hawaii at Hilo, majoring in art. Dena has had her work exhibited in numerous galleries and art exhibitions in Hilo, as well as on the island of Oahu. She brings to the table a unique flare for art, with her own unique, contemporary style. Learn More
