With this exhibition we hope to educate and increase the understanding of the island’s socioeconomic landscape and ecosystem, to encourage artists and viewers to re-think the shop and drop mentality, and to stimulate our brains and hearts to find ways in which we may lower the carbon footprint for our islands.

 

    • INTAKE: October 1st (Saturday) from 9:00AM-12:00PM on site at the EHCC (141 Kalakaua St, Downtown Hilo).

    • All entries must be the original works of artists living on the Big Island, not previously shown in a juried exhibit utilizing recycled materials. 

    • Flat rate entry fee of $20.00 - make the most out of it and enter UP TO 3 pieces per artist- large works are encouraged! Be prepared to set up your own piece for judging.

    • Jurying: 12:00-1:00pm. 

    • Notification of acceptance: 1:00-2:00pm.

    • Pick up non-accepted works same day 2:00pm-4:00pm and Sunday October 2nd, 10:00am-12:00pm.

    • Winners and honorable mentions will be publicized at the opening.
