Class Description:

In this single session workshop, students will learn the basics behind creating their own unique acrylic painting. Under the guidance of local artist, Dena Nakahashi, students will journey through the painting process from canvas preparation to finishing. Along the way, students will also learn about color mixing and proper tools and brushes. 

All supplies included. Due to social distancing, spaces are limited.

Health and Safety Guidelines:

  • All individuals feeling sick or unwell in any way should stay home. We will issue a refund if your child is unable to attend class as a result of any health related issues.

  • Hand sanitizer and antibacterial soaps will be readily available. All individuals are encouraged to sanitize or wash their hands before entering the classroom area.

  • Face masks must be worn at all times while on EHCC property. 

  • Distances of at least 3 ft. will be maintained amongst students and adults at all times during classes.

  • Parents/guardians will not be allowed to wait in the classroom area. Parents are encouraged to wait in the parking lot until the designated pick-up time.

  • Dena Nakahashi's picture
    Bio:
    Dena is a multimedia artist based in Volcano, on the Big Island. She has attended Kapiolani Community College on Oahu as well as the University of Hawaii at Hilo, majoring in art. Dena has had her work exhibited in numerous galleries and art exhibitions in Hilo, as well as on the island of Oahu. She brings to the table a unique flare for art, with her own unique, contemporary style. Learn More
