The Prince Dance Theater will be performing at 7:30pm in Kahua 'Elua (2nd Floor Theater) Opening Night of the 30th Annual Trash Show!

This new work from Prince Dance Theatre is an exciting collaboration between astronomers, engineers, photographers and painters. Using the universe as our inspiration, the show will travel from the beginning of time to present day using contemporary dance, original music, video projection and live painting. Delving deep into scientific data to turn the unknown and mysterious into something tangible and embodied in movement.

Bio:

Angel Prince is a Director, Choreographer, Educator, and Performer originally from NY. She is the director of Prince Dance Institute, based at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea, and the Artistic Director of the not for profit, Prince Dance Theatre. She holds a B.A. in Dance and Psychology from Hofstra University and a Masters degree in Tendencies of Contemporary Dance at the National University of Art in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Ms. Prince has been a resident teaching artist for public and private schools all over the island and is a teaching artist for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. As director of Prince Dance Theatre, Angel has created and presented over 15 original evening-length works nationally and internationally in both theatrical and educational settings. Que Suenes Con Las Angelitas, written with Beth Dunnington and critically acclaimed for its combination of dance and theatre, toured the state of Hawai‘i and showcased at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. Ms Prince worked with Jack Johnson’s Kōkua Hawaii Foundation to create the original musical, Trash Heap, which also toured the state. Angel is a Tanne Award winner, and her company was recently mentioned in Rolling Stone Magazine for their participation in the Concert Across America to End Gun Violence. She is also very excited to announce the recent launch of her online school, DanceTangoTV.com, specializing in Argentine tango with masters of the dance from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
